FAQs
Q.: What does the "Live From Station" tool show?
A.: The Live From Station tool (or Live Station Board) displays all trains scheduled to arrive or depart from a specific station within a selected time frame. It shows the train number, name, current delay status, and the platform number where the train is expected to arrive.
Q.: How far in advance can I see the trains at a station?
A.: You can typically view the Live Station Status for the next 2, 4, or 8 hours. This window is designed to help short-term travelers and those waiting at the platform get the most relevant and immediate information.
Q.: How accurate are the platform numbers shown?
A.: The platform numbers are fetched from the live railway feed. However, platform assignments can change at the last minute due to operational reasons. Always keep an eye on the physical display boards and audio announcements at the station for final confirmation.
Q.: What is the difference between "Scheduled" and "Expected" time?
A.: Scheduled Time is the official time as per the Indian Railways Time Table. Expected Time is the actual time the train is predicted to arrive, accounting for any live delays or track conditions reported through GPS.
Q.: Can I track a train after it has left the station?
A.: Once a train has departed, the Live Station Board will show it as "Departed." To continue tracking its journey, you can click on the train number to switch to the Live Running Status tool for real-time GPS coordinates.
